Hotel Bedroom Exercises

By: Matt Furey
Best Selling Author of "Combat Conditioning"

I was standing in a hotel lobby with my friend, Mark, when a man in his mid 40's came up to and said, "Excuse me, sir. Aren't you Matt Furey?"

"That all depends on who's asking," I replied. "Who are you?

"My name is John and I just want to tell you how much your books and videos have helped me and my family. I do your exercises everyday and so do my kids.

"Is that right," I said. "How old are your children?"

"I have four kids. My youngest is 2 years old and he does the squats with me every night. He's up to 100 in a row."

"That's awesome," I said.

"I just want to thank you for how much you've helped me," John continued. "Before I got your courses I was so stiff and tight. My body hurt all over. I've never been active. I'm not an athlete. But let me tell, as a result of your Combat Conditioning, I look and feel like one now. Your course is awesome. I tell everyone about it."

"Why thank you John. I really appreciate it," I smiled.

"Matt's program has helped me a ton, too," said Mark.

"That's great. Hey, if it's not too much trouble, could I ask you a quick question?" John said.

"Better make it quick," I said. "Got a ride coming in a minute."

"Okay, here it is: I've been at this hotel for three days now. So inside my room I do Combat Conditioning. I do the Hindu squats and pushups, no problem. But what about the bridging? How do I do that in the hotel? I especially need this exercise on the road because hotel beds bother my back. I'm just not used to them."

"John, if the mattress is fairly firm, you can do the bridge right on top of it. Just pull back the covers so you don't slide, then go for it. If the mattress is too soft, you can lie on the floor and put your feet on the box spring for elevation. Then grab a pillow or a rolled up blanket and bridge from there. The added elevation will really help if your lower back is sore. Just be careful and make sure you move furniture and hardware out of the way first."

"That's awesome," said John, shaking my hand as I got into my ride.

"Don't forget to do those hill sprints," I said. "They go together great with the workout you're doing."

"You got it," said John.

As the car pulled away the driver asked Mark and me, "You guys talking about working out?"

"We were," said Mark.

"You know, I was going to ask, do you know of a good exercise program that a man between the ages of 38 and 48 could follow?"

"You mean, do I know of a good exercise program for YOU?" I said.

The driver smiled with a bit of embarrasment and said, "Uh, yeah. For me."

"Tell you what," I said. "There's a great website I'd like to refer you to. It literally has everything you need. It's at Matt Furey and the course is Combat Conditioning."

"Really? That sounds good," he said.

"It's the best," said Mark. "The guy who wrote the book has customers in more than 90 countries."

"No kidding?"

"It's true," said Mark. "Here, let me write this website down for you. I know it better than this guy does."

When we got out of the car Mark looked at me and said, "Do you think when he's goes to your website he'll figure out that he was talking to you today?"

"Doesn't matter," I replied. "Only thing that matters is that he gets the program, uses it and gets results."

I hope you've enjoyed this little vignette. Tis all for now.
